IMPATTO AWARDS ’11: I MIGLIORI DISCHI DEL 2011

It’s been a beautiful and important year. We’ve been saying this from this last May, especially since we noticed so many quality works out there. We were already picturing ourselves going through thounds and thounds of albums just to find those 10 or 20 worth listening.

And guess what? Here we are with a super chart comprehensive of a total of 50 albums to tell you about this amazing 2011. We have James Blake, one of the most interesting artist of the present music scene who is certainly destinied to change radically the way we do and listen to music. We have Matana Roberts, creepy and beautiful at the same time with her long term project fated to leave a permanemt mark. We have the Tune Yards and the Cults, perfect examples of an easy-to-listen music but created with intelligence. There is also the beautiful St. Vincent completely between pop, math and true art. However there are so many masterpieces and so many artists out there that have started to amazingly changed the music scene. Even though it’s a only a small change we are talking about we still consider it a significant one which is worth of being told. This playlist of ours which sees James Blake in first position it’s a good way to remember this splendid 2011 which has given us outstanding emotions. (traduzione Gianluca Ugolini)

É stato un anno importante e bellissimo, lo ripetiamo da maggio, più o meno da quando ci siamo accorti che stavano uscendo tanti, tantissimi, troppi lavori di qualità. Già ci immaginavamo a dicembre ad ascoltare un sacco di musica per trovare un po’ forzatamente 10 o 20 bei dischi, abituati alle basse maree degli ultimi anni.
E invece eccoci, qui, con un classificone di 50 dischi a raccontare un 2011 per certi versi piacevolmente sorprendente: c’è James Blake, sicuramente il nome più caldo dell’insieme, certamente uno degli artisti più interessanti del panorama, destinato forse a rivoluzionare il modo di intendere la musica da qui a chissà quando. C’è Matana Roberts, inquietante e bellissima, con il suo progetto a lungo termine pronto a lasciare un segno indelebile e profondo. Ci sono i Tune Yards e i Cults, lampanti esempi di come fare musica orecchiabile con intelligenza, c’è una bellissima St. Vincent, magicamente in bilico tra pop, math e vera e propria arte. Ci sono tantissimi altri nomi, tantissimi altri artisti che si sono imposti con grandi o piccole, talvolta piccolissime, rivoluzioni che hanno fatto gridare a più riprese il capolavoro.
Capolavoro che forse non c’è stato, ma francamente facciamo fatica a ricordare un’altra annata così ricca di dischi e lavori di qualità.
Questa top 50, dove nemmeno il primo posto (per la cronaca, al prodigioso James Blake) si impone pesantemente sugli altri, è un bel modo per ricordare tutto il buono che questo 2011 ha saputo regalarci e per invitarvi a conoscere meglio i nomi dei suoi principali artefici.
