CALIFONE: a maggio il nuovo album “Villagers”

Sono passati tre anni da “Echo Mine” (e ben 25 dal loro debutto) e i Califone sono pronti a tornare con il nuovo album “Villagers” in uscita il 19 maggio per Jealous Butcher Records.

Il disco vedrà la partecipazione di collaboratori di lungo corso come Brian Deck, Michael Krassner, Rachel Blumberg, Ben Massarella e Laurel Canyon.

Del lavoro parla il leader del progetto Tim Rutili:

I came out of this judging myself a little bit less harshly, trusting myself a tiny bit more. It feels comfortable to combine elements of Captain Beefheart, ’70s AM radio pop, and broken digital sounds. There are words that shouldn’t go together and images that are smashed together that maybe shouldn’t be, but it feels right.
